I’m sorry to hear this, as I was let go today as well. I wasn’t expecting this based on the timing, but considering the last few years and this economy, I kind of did. It was all a matter of when.

What is the severance like in April?

I got my meeting in the summer. With some perspective, you will grow to understand how wretched and awful Dell has become in the last couple of years. You might become a little more bitter, particularly when you get started at a company that treats its employees with dignity and gives them opportunities to thrive.

Which Org?

Look at your 1:1, then look at all of manager’s calendar. You’ll see he has 1:1’s back to back. That’s how I knew before the call.

Get on LinkedIn and start connecting. If you find me - i'll accept and give some insights on LHH outplacement and some advice that took me a few months to figure out. Luckily Dell rehired me in a different role (had to give severance back) but i've already got my foot out the door again with better roles ahead! You'll learn - Dell is and was toxic. Not always like that but the last 3 years or so..... damn Dell became terrible.
