Thread regarding Dell Inc. layoffs

Incompetent PMs

My absolute favorite people are incompetent PMs that throw nonstop buzzwords and sirs and maams in calls to try to compensate for the fact that they have no clue what theyre doing.

Noone likes you a**kissing fools, you annoy everyone that actually does the work

PM's are refurbished a**kissers from other extigued roles that are pretending to do something, example is the AI assistant for TS that it shows real incompetence and lack of expertise.

In the end, when all the dust settles and the engineers are out looking for jobs, the PM’s will still be gainfully employed. Their skillset spreads across all verticals. Thirty years as a Dell engineer doesn’t.

Nail on the head!! So many PMs making decisions on IT rollouts and changes that have zero IT and zero business experience. It's why we have to keep rolling things back when it blows up every other week. And yes the Jira tickets sit there for so long at times.. bouncing from team to team like hot potato.

"I’m equally annoyed by lazy a-s engineers with a million and one excuses for why the simple Jira ticket still isn’t done."

I can't even get them to acknowledge that they have seen the jira I opened almost 90 days ago........

You never really know the value of one until you work with a good one. I've worked with a few of those. The ones with an engineering background are fantastic.
I agree tho most are beyond terrible, barely understanding what the project even is supposed to do
