Thread regarding Enbridge Inc. layoffs

Pathetic

Remember when this job had actual professionals? Now it's a ghost town of clueless new hires who can't or simply won't do the work. Meanwhile, management acts like the veterans are the ones causing problems. Pathetic. If this is how they want to run things, good luck keeping the lights on.

Absolutely everyone in my office is quiet quitting, and it's as a result of this new management style.
Attempting to save money at the lowest level is just going to send the whole thing toppling over eventually.
I've spoken to people at other companies and they're all running things like Enbridge.
Do they think people don't communicate?

While I don't intend to generalize, there seems to be significant frustration among many GDS/LP in Canada? this site is so much more active than others companies in the midstream sector.

Just an observation

Major projects should be dismantled from top to bottom and we should COMPLETELY contract out ALL of our project work. Enbridge has never and will never be good at building anything in a timely or cost effective manner.

Hey! I was one of those professional ones! Over 25 years experience! Absolutly rocked it on Line 3. Received a 5,000 stellar from Leo himself. Rated a High Performer and once as exceptional. The result? Got laid off and replaced by someone who didn't have a single days experience in my speciality. The result? My team, who I was privledged to lead because they were so awesome, scattered to the four winds and every thing went downhill super fast. What took me four years to fashion fell apart in about six months. But hey! At least it made them ready for the next 75, right? Enbridge gotta Enbridge!

Every single generation complains the ones after them are clueless and lazy. News flash they said that about you too!And yet, the lights stay on.
You are just getting old and grumpy. Happens to the best of us.

I would agree with this sentiment. Not just new hires at rank and file, but management is made of up new hires as well with very little experience.

Then the reliance of using short term contractors to save costs. All I hear is record profits - the company can’t be in that bad a shape to justify all this cost cutting?

It just seems like cost cutting for the sake of saying we are doing it so an investor doesn’t ask questions - despite great margins.
