Thread regarding Five9 Inc. layoffs

Feel like an id--t

Got a raise earlier this year - thought things were looking up. Then bo-m, laid off like so many others. Meanwhile, the execs keep pocketing the big bucks and enjoying job security. Really makes you feel valued.

Mike is the problem. He doesn’t know what to do with the business, and he’s in over his head. The All Hands messaging sounded like the hysterical ranting of a desperate man who is blaming every everyone else, but himself. Look in the mirror, buddy. The reason why you make the big bucks is because you are accountable for how we perform.

His failure to acknowledge that he and Barry have made mistakes also means that he will be unwilling to do anything that is going to make a difference.

Five9 can’t trust the guy to solve the problems he created (he can’t even address the unethical behavior of Ashish). What Mike is doing is the definition of insanity - he continues to do the same thing - expecting different results.

If there’s going to be another round in six months, it’s time to reconsider whether Panos and Tony should continue in their roles. It’s unfair to keep letting go of lower-level employees who do the hard, day-to-day work while upper leadership remains untouched. You can’t modernize an organization with the same old leadership mindset. At some point, we have to ask whether the top needs to change before the bottom is gutted any further. And frankly, Panos’s race car analogy has worn thin. It’s time for real direction, not metaphors.

You're not an id--t, you worked for id--ts.

I'm sorry you were laid off. Hopefully you'll find something new soon.
