Thread regarding Dell Inc. layoffs

If you're laid off

If you're laid off and you find a new job within a few weeks, do you risk losing your severance? I haven't been laid off, but I'm trying to figure out how things work so I'm prepared if I'm next.

Why would you? It's not unemployment payments, it's a severance payment Dell gives to employees it lays off so they don't have to go through all of the WARN stuff + to save itself if someone has a complaint

It took me two months. I found a job with similar compensation at a company that doesn’t treat employees like refuse. I banked 60k and moved on. Now I just watch Dell and enjoy the show.

Absolutely not. Once you're gone you're gone. Just make sure you return the equipment they ask for and never think of Dell again.

Only if you find a new job at Dell. If it's outside dell then dell will never know. I have a friend who was in last stages of interviewing. Got laid off at Dell and got a new job a week later haha talk about a glow up. That's the best case senerio cause you get all that money and get out with a job already. Best of luck the same thing happens to you!
