delivering the news of a layoff is bad enough. No matter how well delivered the news is, you still become public enemy number1 from those you let go and anyone not even employed by you but have experienced a layoff and knows how it feels.
You don’t deliver the layoff news with glee and joy with a smug smile on your face. Musk doing a monkey boy dance waiving a chain saw around gloating on how you’re gonna cut deep and people are going to lose their jobs is not the way to go. To make matters worse, you’re the richest man on the planet doing it. Rather than salt in the wound, it might as well be lava. So now, you’ve done everything you can do to make sure as many people hate you as possible.
Even the way Musk looks at layoffs is off kilter. “How lucky these people are. They now have the time to go out and re-invent themselves to current skills.”
You know, because its easy for that single mom to just hammer out study on AI large language model and BAM!!! They have a job by Monday. Its just that easy.
Yes, I realize that Musk is the richest and smartest person on the planet. How good for him. I’m happy that for him he can just learn anything he wants and become the expert at it over night. How good it is to be Elon Musk.
