Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Intel has spent $152 billion on share buybacks.

That is more than the entire value of the company currently. Imagine if they had bought Bitcoin instead of just fleecing investors.

Even crooked Joe had to tell them no more buybacks for 5 years if they take the CHIPs Act money because the scam was too obvious.

The only way for Intel to survive is to take the CHIPs Act money and buy Bitcoin like GameStop and Strategy. At least then there will be a slight hope for success.

Ridiculous amounts of downvotes let you know when you are directly over the target!

Forget Bitcoin, imagine if they had continued to invest in leading edge process nodes.

@a7 - they do not know how to do that properly, buybacks are much easier and more profitable for them - they make money immediately

They do not pay taxes when they do share buybacks so it kind of makes sense as it'd be a smart and low effort allocation of capital... I'd suspect that, since most senior execs are sitting on piles of stock, they also personally benefit from this as they are artifically inflating the value of our stock. It'd be cool if they were to invest it into our business but they are bad at that so maybe stock buybacks are the best thing they can do with that $$$. I am angry because of this but I also see the limitations of what our mediocre (at best) exec lineup can make happen.

Yes and they could produce mining chips to dial in the fabs and realize immediate revenue. Alas a dinosaur like Intel is incapable of such forward thinking and will never "get it"... so it will just fade away into obscurity instead.
