Anyone else catch the Indy Car announcement today? The absolute audacity of Hassane to layoff 2400 people and affect 2400 families and yet still insist on this complete waste of money. It looks like it’s now a “partnership” as opposed to a “sponsorship” so probably less money. But even if it costs a dime, it’s too much with the way the company’s finances are at the moment.

It is indeed painful to see layoffs, and then within 30 days, the company spends money on Indy cars and flies top management around for micromanaging. I don’t understand why they’re failing to realize that employees are losing morale towards the company.
So glad to see I'm not the only one that see zero purpose to the Indy Car. Oh yea! Another toy for Hassane. Sure hope all those laid off employees can still afford their actual car payments while the rich keep getting richer.
I'd very much like to hear a justification from one of the decision makers that Hassane's car obsession is more important than the jobs of thousands of employees. They will try to gaslight us and say that the marketing of this fool's errand somehow brings in more/new business but when the company is in the position to layoff not just dead weight but good, quality employees, there is no room for extravagances like this. Period.
I have been holding on by a thread now for months. Onsemi keeps giving me more and more reasons to walk away. The choice to continue the Indy car might just be the final straw for me. I worked my a-s off in 2024. Achieved every single one of my goals. Yet I get no bonus because the company didn’t meet their goals. And they still decide to continue with this Indy car nonsense. I’m fuming.
no bonus payment, no pay raise and they spend money on a f.cking indy car
Unreal. Senior leadership is a master class in utter refusal to read the room.
