None of my colleagues been around long enough to know. I have only been at the company since 2020 so I am missing a lot of the legacy years and information.
I've read old some old comments from customers and it sounds like years ago RENXT basically had very little functionality. That even over the years many of the main features all had to be done in database view still.
How exactly did this happen? Were the RENXT engineering teams too small, or were they all focused on RE7? Why launch that RENXT at all then?
It's a flagship product so I figured they had to have tons of developers. Even just recently they are accelerating to add more functionality to RENXT. But what exactly is taking so long? With developer productivity tools, modern software engineering knowledge and higher level languages etc. They can't quickly write up those features with some of the logic already existing in RE7 to reference?
Is the RE7 codebase just that massive, or were the guys who originally wrote RE7 amazing?
