Thread regarding Northrop Grumman Corp. layoffs

What are chances of NOC winning the new Navy fighter to replace the F-18's? Are they going it alone or partnering with Boeing?

If NOC wins, will they build the new fighters in El Segundo?

@sy ES is the largest wood building in the US, and also the largest building made of old-growth redwood. Retrofit to modernize the plant would be cheaper than building from the ground up, so why not. NGC is in good place to win USN next fighter.

Giving it to Boeing is a joke with all the issues they have that proves Boeing has influence in the gov and doesnr matter how many people die they will win

If the announcement stall for three year, what will be the status of ES then? There is no worthwhile program left in ES to justify its existence. Is it time to quit?

possibly yes, bc they don't want to fall into the whole mess when Lockheed won both f35 and F22 contracts.

Likely no. Newer than 5th gen airframes need a climate controlled assembly facility. That bldg the f18 is assembled in is the largest wooden bldg standing in the USA if I recall
