Thread regarding 3M layoffs

2026 employee outlook

I know it's probably too early to tell...anyone that was up for a raise/promotion or 2026 bonus...will those be impacted by the trade war between US and the world?

This is what happens when people vote for an imbecilic psycho. Stupid actions impact 3M just as things were looking a bit better stock-wise.

3M stock down 12 % in two days since Liberation day proclamation.

Just when things were looking a bit upbeat ( share price up, no layoffs in one year, focus on new NPIs, new hiring across divisions...), self destructive economic policies are announced.

Guess what the 2025 outlook looks like ??

We are headed into a large unknown and 3M, like other global companies, will be reluctant to spend or invest (to try to remain lean and adaptable). This will likely mean fewer opportunities in the near term. Sorry :(

I’ll take a stab at this. It’s not specific to 3M, but the business disruptions coming from this administration are very very real. Trade wars, subsequent impact to sales and manufacturing are all here or imminent. This bodes poorly for prospects in 2026. Buckle up folks.

Unless you work for one of BBs imported wunderkinds, getting a promotion in 2025 or 26 just ain't gonna happen. BB is going into overdrive to break 3M up into 5 or 6 pieces. No need to add cost in higher salaries. Stick to doing your 40 hours a week and don't fall for the myth that working longer and harder matters in this company. Minnesota Nasty is here to stay.

Haha, no.

3M is a sh-t hole, regardless.
