Thread regarding Dell Inc. layoffs

They want folks to leave...

but not exactly for the reasons people usually assume. It's less about saving money and more about tightening the reins.

It's no coincidencethat the most aggressive players in the corporate world right now are the companies led by the oligarchs. Meta, Amazon, Google, etc

They’re gearing up to carry out some ethically murky moves aligned with the current White House administration, and they can't afford dissent. Whistleblowers and anyone resistant to bending the rules are liabilities.

This is a trial. A pressure test. How much can they push before someone walks? How can they lock in those who are either too disillusioned or too indifferent to resist?

You're wrong: if it was deliberate they wouldn't fire people indiscriminantly.

Unfortunately, if you really kept people accountable, you wouldn't have any employees left. Even if you are accountable, people will come up with some excuse and then let off the hook.

@bj

We see all of it.
And we're not happy with any of it.

LOL.. all of you will be busy fighting over whose spelling is correct.. while the person who is causing your distress is hopping onto his next promotion. Case in point - Dir in the Edge AI business and leading it - yet again...after causing the FAILURE in the telco segment.
Dont you guys see where the problem is ?
The failed decision makers have been promoted to lead another Business unit to again cause more failures because they are the "friend" of the boss.

This is a very good take. I tried to convince a friend to look elsewhere as I got a new job at much higher pay and less work/stress. I want him to get this too. He was very unhappy when I worked there but he won't leave and he is starting to parrot the dell stuff like, people at home arent really working... I've found out a lot of things they say are true now that I'm back in the office again... blah blah. he's afraid to try to get another job and happy to buy the bs cause he's lazy, which i get. Its was so hard to get my new job, over a year of looking but its so worth it in the long run. I stopped reaching out but if he changes his mind I'll still be here to help.
