Thread regarding Citigroup Inc. / Citibank / Citi layoffs

Deafening silence.

All is quiet. Everyone was told that layoffs are over with except with a few instances of it here and there. We’ve all heard this before and it turned out to not be true. So here we are, waiting. The rumors about April layoffs are abundant, so we wait to see if its all truly over or not.

You then factor in the bonus incentives that’s been reduced for upper upper management and hope that has no bearing on any hasty, rushed bad decisions as a result.

So here we all sit and wait to see what if anything happens. What speaks volumes to me is that the number of people who say they’d gladly take a severance package and move on, is growing everyday. There are those that say that as a defense mechanism, a way to say to themselves that they are in control and there are those who really mean it. Either way, the number is growing. I believe that this is a result of this multi year sit on the edge of your seat to see if you are “worthy” to continue to work at Citi and…..we wait.

Stop worrying about things you can't control. Focus what you do know. If you get laid off deal with that when it happens. Letting something that you have no control over ruin your happiness is a waste of time. Take a breath, be in the moment and live.

Layoffs have always happened regularly. Just because it wasn't publicised lime Bora Bora doesn't mean it wasn't happening.

Everyone is on edge, that’s for sure. No one is happy. This whole layoff progress has dragged on forever now.

There are definitely layoffs coming in April across the board. Targets will continue to be redundancies, low performers, volunteers who have subtly mentioned to their manager, and those just wrong place wrong time. This round (assuming 10K) would technically get us to the 20K we promised last year to investors.

There are non productive managers they don’t do code and they don’t guide team as they don’t know basics, these people just attend meetings and have fun in pulling down one another, just remove this junk then you will see clear path. Until then just enjoy blame show.
