Not heard anymore closings for a while

Thanks Jack! Anyone have any idea why they closed the only 1 in St. Croix, where they had a virtual monopoly, but left 2 stores open in St. Thomas, which are only 2 miles apart? One would have to think those 2 stores are superfluous, and just taking business from each other.
There are no major department stores on St. Croix (much like in Guam), so I don't Know why they would close their only store there.
To the poster below, thanks for that. I actually posted the list Monday (I Learned about the closing Saturday, but I wanted to wait for proof, so I spent all Day Sunday, emailing all the local media outlets, which generated several links including the 1 u shared above). Thanks for sharing that.
For some reason, my list thread was deleted, so I'll go ahead, and post it below, here. I'll just copy and re-paste that same thread:
Wow, so about 2 Years ago, I posted what I thought would be my last list. The reason for that, is it appeared that there would be no more Kmart closings. Then I posted what I thought was the last one in 2024, but I guess I was wrong, and so, my services are needed again. Glad to help! Of course, I would never post a closing without verification, because I'm a journalist, who has NEVER had to retract a closing even once. That's why I haven't posted yet, but I finally found a link for evidence.

The reason I didn't post this Saturday Night, was because I was awaiting verification, as I always "measure twice cut once", and "never count my chickens until they hatch". I ONLY post closings that are verifiable, and I provide links/URL's. I contacted several local media outlets in USVI so we should hopefully get some more articles soon.
So, the last Kmart on St. Croix is closing, leaving 2 in St. Thomas. Oddly, those two stores are only 2 miles apart, so I'm not sure why they didn't close one of them. Seems superfluous to have those two nearby. But anyway, this leaves us with 4 Kmarts.
So, long story short.......
4 Kmarts, List
We are now at 4 Kmarts total, and ONLY 1 of which is in the mainland. I have changed my map to reflect this as well:
FLORIDA
- MIAMI
(Tha..tha...that's all folks!😉😉)
TERRITORIES:
GUAM
- TAMUNING, GU (This location has an independently branded pharmacy that just leases the place).
USVI
- ST. THOMAS -P (The only Kmart branded pharmacy on Earth)
- ST. THOMAS
Statistics: Kmart is absent in 49 states. Now we have only 1 state, Florida, with a Kmart. This is the only Kmart within the continental United States, full stop.
There are now zero states that have multiple Kmarts, although the territory of USVI has 2 in St. Thomas.
In the territories, USVI has 2, Guam has 1, so there are 3 total stores outside of the U.S. mainland. There are 2 pharmacies in the territories, but only 1 is Kmart branded, and thus marked with letter "P" (1 in USVI). Total of 4 Kmarts left as of now that are not closed or closing.
Your buddy, Jack, respectfully signing off. Bye now!
Yes! Hot dog, they've finally closed them all! Finally, that day has come that no more Kmars or Stears weill ever be open again!! It finally happened, rejoice everyone, the end has finally come!
They cut back on employees so much that it’s basically 1 cashier for an entire shift with management as backup except for Saturday & Sundays
Soon enough. Then Eddie's transformation will be complete.
Who cares???
Nope, still 7 Sears stores and one micro-Kmart in the continental US, one Sears in Puerto Rico, one Kmart in Guam, and three Kmarts in the US Virgin Islands.
I'm still patiently waiting for my lawn darts to arrive.
Where are they?
I ordered them from the Sears catalog in June of 1974...why aren't they here yet?
Nothing lately. They are too busy dismantling the appliance repair division. They are doing to this industry what they they did to the retail side years ago. There will be nothing left of it by the end of the year.
