Thread regarding Kroger Co. layoffs

Kroger wants to become Best in Class and an Industry leader

Kroger expects Alot from there employees but is not willing to pay them for all they do. Always chasing HEB Publix and in my area Hy-Vee the best way to get quality employees is pay them very well pain and simple. They try to hem haw there way and expect employees to do anything asked paying the minimal pay. Then try out a attendance policy thats so strict people are going to leave or point out within a month or 2. Bottom line i get they need to control cost but low employee pay for retail is not it. If Costco Target HEB Publix and Hy-Vee can pay there employees starting of $15 to $17 even $20 per hour so can they. Paying $11 to $12 in my area is not cutting it and we get the bottom of the barrel when others are paying more. Not saying dont expect alot from your employees just pay them well start off at $15 for cashier start off $17-$18 for perimeter departments start off $25 for Department Leads other retailers can do it so can Kroger which is the LARGEST Traditional Grocer but they messed up with the Merger and its coming to bite them .

HEB, in Texas, is the best. Their employees
seem happy to be there. They look pleasant and are nice. Quite the opposite attitude of Kroger employees.

Kroger must need a "PEP Rally" to motivate their employees. Friendliness and smiling go a long way!!
