Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Not everyone has faith in the new CEO

Intel: New CEO, Same Old Game Plan

  • Intel appoints Lip-Bu Tan as CEO, continuing Gelsinger's foundry strategy, which I believe is doomed to fail and a red flag for investors.
  • Intel's x86 architecture struggles with power efficiency compared to ARM, and the foundry strategy aims to mitigate this disadvantage.

100% agree and I am a Christian. He used Christian values as a shield while at the same time ruining and destroying many people’s lives.

@p5 This. It’s been SO refreshing not to have to hear about someone’s Jesus while watching the same someone run my employer and my career into the dirt.

Pastor Pat was a similar level to stink to the ones before him (ok, BK is the GOAT), but watching him post bible versus and fritzing about with his church buddies while the company burns was truly disgusting to witness.

Same game plan as Pat, but much fewer resources / people power by tak8ng a weed whacker to middle management.

I have more faith in the guy who doesn’t run a company with…his faith.

Wait . . . where's the drinking part?

Dude, the guy hasn't even been in the job for 1 month yet. You don't even know what his plans are. It's stupid to start criticizing people before they even have a chance to do anything. If the argument is that Intel is doomed no matter what, then don't pin the blame on the CEO.

Old game, but new plan. Layoffs will come and long work hours will come for those who stay.

Try the stock drinking game.

Buy 50 shares every time LBT pushes out another ELT or GM.

Buy 100 shares for every 1000 useless line workers he terminates.

Buy 200 shares every time LBT shuts down or sells a product group or fab.

Buy 1000 shares for every major foundry customer that is added.

As a bonus, add 10 more shares every time some retired TSMC exec urges Intel to not even try to compete.

Understandable. The middle managers don't believe in anyone other than themselves, and driving their own agenda.

With Trump destroying the economy, Geezus himself couldn't save Intel.

It is a bit worrisome to see only action changed with the same plan. It seems to be hard to see drastic improvements this way.

x86 is obsolete. If anyone needs one they will just buy from AMD. No other company is going to risk using Intel fabs. Intel is dead.

It’s not we don’t have faith. We just don’t like what he is really going to do and it’s not save or turn Intel around
