Thread regarding Texas Instruments Inc. layoffs

The selection of individuals for layoffs was based solely on numbers

No other criteria were considered. As a result, we've lost veteran employees, highly competent engineers, and skilled professionals with years of experience. These individuals are now being replaced by offshore workers who are significantly cheaper. These decisions have long ceased to be about the quality of work, performance, or individual contribution. Even the long-term viability of the organization seems to have taken a backseat. It has become all about short-term numbers.

The fact they could care less who they laid off kind of means the eventual end or they are just that incompetent. They literally didn't know who they laid off. There are cases of being unable to log into tools. The test wafer team, who saved the company millions but no one else would adopt because it wasn't the TI Way, is totally gone and the fab will only last about a week because no on knows anything about how the system works.

Really competent, excellent people were let go. Disclosure, I wasn't laid off by total luck.

This site will be closed and converted to a data center by 2028. You will see. The analog market does not have enough growth, we can't match, and they have made clear Dallas is the site
