Thread regarding Paycom layoffs

Interview Experience

I just had an interview with Paycom in the last month. The first few rounds went well but the last one was terrible. It was with a manager for software engineering. From the beginning he was condescending and it looked like he hated his life in the office, especially after I asked him about RTO.

By the end, the manager asked if I have any questions. I asked one question and he turned hostile, saying "we have the job and you are trying to get it", when in fact I am very happy in my current role and was reached out by from a recruiter.

Well, I am glad to see this dudes ego at work yet, as my spouse interviewed here before and got the same treatment in their later rounds from another manager. Really takes the mask off the company culture.

Bullet dodged!

I agree with you there. I also had someone tell me there they don't hire anyone over 40 because they can't keep up with the work. Their "culture" is a joke.

I had similar experience with QA department. Manager was south asian. I passed technical rounds. Seems like he was looking someone from his caste. Classic cooperate which becomes a South asian hub. It is probably close to they give jobs to offshore to their country...
