Thread regarding Giant Eagle layoffs

“Voluntary buyouts”

They have allocated $15M for this. If they don’t get to that number with the voluntary buyouts, “involuntaries” are lined up next.

They are making 1.5+ billion from the sale, I think they will have some cash floating around to make it though without having to lay off everyone.

I agree. The writing is on the wall. Involuntaries are coming, no matter what… it’s just a matter of time after the sale closes.

Involuntaries are coming no matter what. BA pretty much said it. Post sale, we won't be the same...and he wasn't just talking about 4 days in office. It's just common sense to know we won't have as much sales to justify the corporate overhead...so hopefully the 60+ crowd takes the package and saves some of the younger people's jobs...because cuts are 100% coming.

I have not heard anything about this. Are there any more details floating around?

My name is, “you’re a brainwashed corporate bootlicker” and my store number is, “99% of your team despises you”.

What is your name & store number? I'll check to see if you're eligible?

Is this just for corporate employees or will store level employees be offered a buyout too?
