I concur on 90's, all B-M meetings had a grim overtone that the Barbarian's were at the gates and if we missed any product launches we'd be no more than yesterday's obituary. Then the 2000s started we bought up a bunch of worthless dot.com companies let AMD school us with Athlon. B-Ms became MUMs and SYNC meetings. There was some improvement with Core2 but we started missing commits and pushing product launches meanwhile meetings became self-aggrandizing, coolaid drinking nobody can touch us circlej--ks. Then BK came in and chose not to reinvest in New tech. The rest is history.
Speaking from experience, All of the Paranoid left in the 90's Under (MBA) Craig Berrett's leadership we could see that Intel was becoming penny wise and pound foolish. We wanted to work on the cool stuff and Intel just wanted to ride the money train with little effort and legacy products.
Jesus needs to be fired too. Pat went to him for advice in prayer.
