Thread regarding Lockheed Martin Corp. layoffs

Since Lockheed lost NGAD to Boeing, which was a shock it looks like Marietta and Ft Worth sites are going to get hard with layoffs

After the NGAD news Lockheed managers seem like they are gearing up to announce a RIF. After the NGAD announcement, I started to look for internal jobs at other Lockheed sites. Internal Lockheed job postings seem to be few and far between.

Trying to figure out what other companies are interested in hiring experienced Lockheed engineers.

they used to hire a lot of contract engineers for situations like this to avoid laying off a large number of contract, employees and direct employees at the same time. Now they don’t really seem to care.

A large number of direct employees will also be laid off a few weeks after contract employees are laid off.

Marietta released eight contract engineers yesterday that worked on NGAD related work. When they showed up to work, the Contractors were told they were being released. Security escorted them out of the building.
