I meant Friday rather than Wednesday. Brain misfire on a Friday.

There must be some flexibility. I get here the same time every day +/- 5 minutes. It’s been a lot easier to park close to the building on Friday than on Saturday.
"If this is true, you are an id--t."
Working your scheduled hours makes you an id--t?
“You say there's flexibility for your team and on mine the expectation is 6 days per week in office for at least 9 hours a day.”
If this is true, you are an id--t. Unless you’re paid hourly, you should never work more than the absolute minimum hours. You will NOT be rewarded. You will NOT be recognized. You will only continue to be abused by your overlord.
"It's no different than pre-pandemic, some days are 3 hours, some 6. Some weeks are 3 days, some are 4 or 5"
IMHO this is part of the problem. Different teams are being held to different standards. You say there's flexibility for your team and on mine the expectation is 6 days per week in office for at least 9 hours a day. They're also monitoring when we connect to the VPN. I like to check my bin on Sunday nights so I know what awaits me Monday morning and was accused of trying to avoid going into the office.
"My favorite part is the people that show up at 10:30 and leave at 2."
This is how a flexible workday works. Nothing in the policy says there are any minimum days or hours. It does say you can adjust hours around peak traffic times.
I get a kick out of the posters complaining about increased childcare costs. How were you working and taking care of your kids at the same time before? Both are full time jobs.
The damn parking lots are so full I got a door ding
"Now try doing some actual productive work"
I didn't my best and most productive work at home. Now all I do is try to get the bare minimum done between the pointless in person meetings and constant interruptions.
I like going to the restroom and making obscene noises on the toilet. Collaboration!
Settling into my new routine and just accepting what it is. I'd rather be working from home, but honestly nothing has changed from the 3 day RTO requirement, the office seems just as busy as it did then, so I'm just going with the flow and doing what I'm getting paid to do
My favorite part is the people that show up at 10:30 and leave at 2.
Apparently, a VP had enough free time to log in 65 times, clear their cache, and click the down arrow over and over just to make it seem like people are actually into this. Must be nice to have that kind of schedule.
It's no different than pre-pandemic, some days are 3 hours, some 6. Some weeks are 3 days, some are 4 or 5. There are no minimums required in any category and flexibility is still available in the workday. Drive around peak hours, wfh when you need to accommodate geo hours etc
yes, feels like covid never happened actually
Better get used to it because the days of slacking off remote are over. Now try doing some actual productive work.
The MGMT
No one likes this sh-t it’s a complete fu-kapalooza.
I'm getting used to getting less work done if that's what you mean. I don't think I'll ever get used to the pi-s on tbe bathroom floor or the smell of BO though.
There are not many people that are getting used to it. Nobody likes the drive, the clothes, the food, the extra daycare costs, car costs, gas... Speaking of gas, bodily function edecet is lacking. I'm not talking about the poor guy with IBS who is just trying to make it though the day. The smells.. I'm just still not used the smells.. food, farts, hot breath. The worse is the mildew from folks not getting their clothes into the dryer before they mildew.
Lots of empty cubes today.
Hate every minute of it.
no. I suffer from sever IBS and each drive in is a white knuckle experience for me.
Then my day is punctured with frequent unsavory restroom visits.
Not in an "I like it" or "I'm okay with it" sense, but more of a "you got to do what you got to do, so you might as well stop stressing over it."
