And anyone with a brain utilized the fidelity brokerage link feature to jailbreak the system and invest in anything you wish. Target date funds have horrendous returns no matter who is selling them. All you had to do was look down the screen a bit further and invest in the index funds. But the would involve personal responsibility.

I saw that email with Wells Fargo I wasn't sure if it was a scam.

I received the same this morning. Did a little more digging about the case and it looks like UnitedHealth Group, was retaining underperforming Wells Fargo target date funds in our 401(k) plan — looking out for their relationship with WellFargo instead of the employees. Nothing surprises me anymore.
