Took a chance and applied to a job at Cisco in which I met the criteria. Received automated rejection in less than an hour. After reading posts especially about HR and recruiters, I’m not surprised. Sounds like a very toxic environment while HR is incompetent

Backdoor reference at its finest.
Automatic rejection in 30min prob meant a human never saw it. Something in or not in your resume was rejected by an Applicant Tracking System automatically. Hope you didn't use AI for any of it. ATSs are rejecting resumes if they think they spot AI generated content.
You need something that says you're Indian on your resume.
The reality is, you didn't click enough DEI boxes and/or have too much experience they don't want to pay for. They are looking for younger, cheaper to hire and cheaper to insure people. Automation scanned your application, didn't see the right keywords and rejected it.
Sorry to hear this. The job market is tough out there. As for some of these toxic comments, rejection is redirection. You are better off where you are appreciated for what you bring to the table.
the reality is you simply came up short in either skills or experience. If you were chosen for interviews, my guess is you would’ve also been exposed for lacking communications skills and a sense of perspective and accountability.
I have not read anything about recruiters here.
How does your rejection relate to an alleged incompetent HR and a alleged very toxic environment?
I would assume an automated rejection is sent out within a second and not within an hour. Perhaps you received a generic rejection after an initial screening?
Do you always get invited for an interview when you meet "the criteria"?
just like any big business it just depends which part of the business you were applying for. some parts are run well. others are run like sh*t
Did you submit a photo with your application? They are big on photos.
