The Bill and Dave days were phenomenal . People with advanced degrees interviewed for Administrative Assistant jobs just to get their foot in the door. Ten percent profit sharing paid out twice a year with another 10% put into your pension plan. They paid twice a year so you had half to go on summer vacation and half for Xmas. If a person's job went away instead of being WFR'd they would be offered any open job with their same salary for 2 years until they found a new job in the company. But that was a whole different IT world back then!
HPE is anti-American. However, it makes me sad when I talk to people who worked at HP during the Bill and Dave days. I don’t know those days, but they sound like they were good ones.
I am actually enjoying the long slow demise of this anti-american company.
