Thread regarding CVS layoffs

SURVEYS ARE NOT ANONYMOUS. YOUR JOB AT RISK.

Please know that your surveys are being tracked and poor scores are flagged, but not for good reasons like working to improve. Rumors are true that low scorers are added to a list and results will be utilized as a package toward future layoffs. THIS IS TRUE. I WORK IN IT. We have an active "capture" program and hand off results to sr. leadership.

SURVEYS WILL NOT RESULT IN CHANGE. GIVE 5 STARS ACROSS THE BOARD. LEAVE NO COMMENTS.

You can use AI to rephrase your thoughts in a way that throws them off. It's a game of cat and mouse – and you can play it just as well as they can.

So the Anonymous that started the thread - you'd be willing to be deposed to testify to what you said? If what you say is true then the company is wide open to lawsuits after they put in writing that the survey is anonymous. I don't think they would take that risk when it really isn't all that an important consideration to reduce the work force. The only time they are allowed to identify who submitted a particular survey is when there are comments that could lead concerns for the safety of others or if there were implications of criminal wrong doings.

I agree and do we think it’s a coincidence that the surveys will be closed before open enrollment docs come out. Our boss gave us low level highlights that she was allowed to share. We will now be getting penalized for certain tests and vaccines we choose not to take with a premium penalty . Guess I’ll take the penalty. Not going to be forced to do tests and take shots not needed

The survey responses are averaged out. Your boss won't be able to ID you unless you say something in the comments that he/she would know that only you would say.

This place is seriously Game of Thrones sh*t. Stay if you must but otherwise find the environment you need and deserve and go on to that better place. It’s hard work but if you’re waiting for this place to reform you’re kidding yourself.

Seriously, let's say you have a department of 100 people, 10% aren't happy. Your boss looks at comments and you're laid off for that, do you want to work for a person who can't take criticism. Walking on eggshells.

You just got a 32% bonus for working harder, and you want to say you're happy?
The wage gap between you and the person who can lay you off is 50k or more per year. Half of them hate managing people, the other half would replace you in a heartbeat with a friend or relative.
There is no promotions in this company unless you're a favorite.

Just don't take the survey, then you don't have to worry. No changes will come out of it anyway.

I have had a VP set up a time to personally yet at me for the low scores I submitted on my survey. He cited my written feedback and then told my boss to lower my performance rating. It's all politics. My advice...if you want to keep your job or get a marginally better bonus/raise, lie and give a high score.

So is the survey anonymous? No, it is not but I also doubt that people are tracing back each of the responses to who submitted it. If you wrote something so blatant, a senior leader can definitely ask for who submitted it. Also doubt survey response is tied to RIF/layoffs.

The next part is each department assigns a survey committee to review the scores and comments and come up with an action plan to improve.
This is where you can just take sham actions like our team went through 3 reports in 18 months and that was a theme for low confidence in leadership and an action item could emerge on more town halls/forums to discuss changes which essentially is brushing the real issue aside and taking an action that is unrelated to the real concern

Whatever. Being laid off would be a blessing at this point.

I've been doing these surveys for xx years. They are completely meaningless except for a way to pit one department against another in terms of how many people complete it.

I always received top Survey scores for my large team that blew away my EVP, SVP and ED scores and my annual Scorecard was always a 4 or 5 for the last 12 years.
yet I was JE'd. The only thing CVS is good at is making an environment of mediocracy.

Employee surveys are done on a computer system... of course they aren't anonymous.
If they want to know, they just ask Survey Monkey or whoever does the survey these days... "who said x" and they tell them.

Not answering this survey this year. A colleague I work with was called by HR after last years survey asking for details on one of their feedback comments. Don’t trust this company to do any right thing.

Stop. Respond how you want. Be honest. People living in fear speaks all about this place.
They are laying off middle management directors and executive directors. Those are the largest salary pools especially if you've been here 10 years or more.
More engineering role going off shore.
Again, get your resume together. Start applying.

They've so thoroughly destroyed morale that I see people giving low ratings specifically so they can make that list and be set free. Leadership has supremely fu---d up, and no amount of job elimination threats on thelayoff.com are going to save them from low scores

I find this a bit unbelievable…
I scored head and shoulders above every other leader in my organization, including the AVP, consistently. Other leaders had abysmal ratings. Yet I was “job eliminated” and they are still employed.
Good advice to give 5 stars otherwise you will be dragged into action committees. The truth is these surveys always have the same items that cannot be fixed at team level, rather at the board level: better cheaper health benefits; promotions and pay increases; ineffective leadership; etc. Best to respond as they want you to with rose colored glasses as NOTHING has ever changed appreciably as a result of these surveys
