Work has been really, really slow for months. To add insult to injury, now they want me to train new hires to do the same thing. It makes very little sense to me. Feels like I'm setting myself up to be pushed out. I could just be paranoid, but it sure doesn't sit right.

Where is it written that you have to do a good job training anyone? Do a 10 minute training then let them have your hands-off real world experience. Learning in the frying pan teaches them quick reaction, sink or swim!
"They most definatly are replacing you for a lower salary new hire."
So far everyone on my team that has been hired started at a higher pay than me, so I guess I feel safe-ish.
Dell always does this. Train the rookie then out to pasture. What a S**thole company.
@a8+1jq6z1trn - they get us with "other duties as assigned" in job descriptions. That can unfortunately include training your replacement.
"That happened to me. Our group hired an intern in February. She was trained to do what I was doing. I was let go in April. I am retiring age, I was forced out. This was last year."
SAME here! February WFR after training my replacement
If your job description says train new people then your hands are tied. If your job description says nothing about training new hires then tell your boss sorry I'm too busy and it's not in my job description. They most definatly are replacing you for a lower salary new hire.
I'm doing nothing since I joined Dell 4 years ago, very odd setup
