Dell doesn’t need very talented people. They don’t innovate so they don’t need high end engineers and developers. They don’t think outside the box so they don’t need entrepreneurs. They really only need compliant yes-men that are interchangeable cogs. Given all this, they should have no problem cutting down to below 80k headcount.

It’s a race to the bottom on PCs. Same with storage. Competing on price and not technology for servers to be preferred by Nvidia. Nothing too exciting.
Dell is like nvidia minus 70% in gross margins.
Just need to check the box with a smile on your face.

I always thought of dell as a place you go end-of-career.
That is to ride out the last 10y to retirement.
You are right in the sense nothing interesting is happening there.
I dont think anyone young aspires to work for dell.
And if they do end up there I hope it's just used as a stepping stone for them.
