Thread regarding Dish Network layoffs

End of March layoffs?

Any update on the rumors of a large cut in late March? When and what departments? Is it based on pas or is it whether you buy boost?

I have already seen some of the "laid off" roles freshly posted on linkedin. Like they just hope to get someone newer younger or more vulnerable to do the same work for less. Or managers wanted to fire people but were too chicken or lazy to actually have performance conversations with them

ianal but they likely weren't required to post warn (or pay severance) in colorado. Colorado only requires warn for mass layoffs of 500+. between 50 & 499 people laid off, it's only required if the layoff is specifically due to a factory closing, or if the total number of people laid off is 1/3 of the companies' total employees

Still did not see it is been updated to WARN list, is it illegal?

Confused on how they got around warn and not paying severance. maybe they claim each separate building at meridian as a "different site" with under 50 each

curious as to why they were not posted on the WARN list. I hope DISH gets investigated for THAT AND bullying and intimidating the staff to sign up for BOOST mobile. And almost all who were let go from my old team had BOOST so no correlation to the lay offs. (that we can prove) Glad I left when I did!

Had nothing to do with whether or not they had a boost phone, cuz those people let go to…if anything like the last one, they kept their “friends” whether they know what they’re doing or not…

Of course it’s related to whether people switched to boost or not. There’s a reason they pushed performance reviews out until the end of March, and gave managers until the 17th of March to get their teams to 75% switched over.

Complete BS. Probably illegal. Hope they get sued, investigated, and fined.
