Thread regarding Ford layoffs

It will be good if voluntary packages are offered this year. Few of my friends are ready to retire immediately if a package is offered.

It is a win-win in the long term for everyone

Currently I am 3 months past my own 30 month countdown, no Ford pension which makes outright quitting difficult.
I was hoping to be offered a mere pittance to leave, but I don’t see it happening.

Many TAs and TS’s were canned in 2022 and 2023. PR was not a factor in the Boston Consulting algorithm. Age, race, s-x, and organization were the metrics. And then sprinkle in a few others to keep lawsuits down.

Having stated this I doubt Ford is going to offer voluntary again.

Don't let the top achiever rating fool you into thinking you are safe. I had a TA rating when I was given the involuntary package in June 2023.

Yes voluntary packages will be good this year. Ford can reduce head count and employees who need to stay can stay.

Yes Ford will offer everyone a package. Pack your sh-t and hit the door now.

OP, Thank you for the post. I am currently ranked a top achiever and most likely won't get an involuntary package even if I wanted. But if Ford offers voluntary packages I would definitely take it and retire. I wish this happens soon.

Fix your mistakes before leaving and we will gladly hand one over

Make things bad

leave burden on those left

Honestly, it sounds like an evil long term plan. If you want to destroy the future, plan to setup for future failure. Success mode avoidance.

I don’t see this as a positive sum game
