If you need to save cost, what options you will find, if you have 10 people reportig to you?
will you resign and move on and save cost or will you eliminate 5 people and save cost?

I do like my stapler please
At the OP, If you want to save costs, you need to deliver results quickly instead of spending time chatting with various people on the floor. As a leader, you should clearly set the direction from the start and consistently monitor your KPIs. If you had done that, you wouldn't have been asked to cut costs in the first place. This situation is a perfect example of failure.
I nominate this for d-mbest post of the year so far
How can I make my manager pick me?
That’s not how it works. You decide whom to let go from your team, your manager decides whom to let go from you and your peers.
