Thread regarding ExxonMobil Corp. layoffs

New reorg coming April 01. Are you ready?

Well we have had our meetings and lots of changes are coming. More downsizing and consolidation. We are shrinking into a GLO system. Global harmonization is the key. All world sites working together as one happy family. The current sites don't work together at all. It is one big dysfunctional family or sh-t show. Now we will have Indians at BTC managing groups in the USA such as procurement. You will have BTC managers who or make 50k bossing around procumbent types who make double or triple their pay. I attended a career progression presentation but I saw that I was omitted since I am over 50. Lots of employees are moving and some won't survive the change. I asked about late career employees and was told the sky was the limit for advancement. I told the presenter that some of us did not have many years left.

They are going to strip us to the bone in the US. Lots of costs savings and outsourcing. Movement from oil production to low carbon solutions. Low carbon solutions doesn't make any money and is inefficient. Direct air capture is a joke and so is plastic recycling. It is way cheaper to produce new plastic than try to recycle. Materia DCPd is a joke and costs too much compared to existing thermosets. Exxon should try algae again and lose their a-s off. Biofuels is also difficult to process and expensive to produce. We are in for a true sh-t show and it is going to be hard to survive. Investors beware and take note. China is flooding the market with cheap commodities and India is so much cheaper for labor. The writing is on the wall. The pension is also due to be cut and medical has changed for the worst. Several mangers left this year because they wanted to get out with the current benefits. They were worried about upcoming changes to retirees benefits.

"One big happy group working together but one demographic paid 8 times the salary of the other demographic.
Seems like discrimination based on national origin."

Pay is relative to cost of living the country. It is economics 101. Why pay an Indian 100k usd when cost of living is lower in India. They don't pay engineers in the US 1 million do they. We have some indians working in houston they got housing and an auto. Their pay was bumped a bit just for the time in the US. When they return to india their pay will be the same.
