And the layoffs are here! On 5/7/25 Gartner had company-wide layoffs and there was definitely a shock and awe aspect to this. since late 2024, many awful people in management were beginning to set some employees up for documenting their “performance issues” to create a narrative to put them on the layoff list.

AND - hush or quiet firing (deliberate creating conditions that make jobs unpleasant or difficult and effectively forcing folks to quit, that is, push employees out) to avoid paying benefit?
Agree. There are ongoing layoffs at Gartner, but they are experts at hiding them. They advise companies to retain employees and claim that layoffs are harmful, yet they don't hesitate to let people go when necessary.
