Thread regarding Macy's Inc. layoffs

Have we conditioned our customers to expect the worst

Just thinking off the top of my head but have we conditioned our customers to expect the following:

Little to no staffing on the sales floor
Subpar private labels merchandise and/or an overabundance or reliance of them
A lack of quality assortment in our stores (brands, sizes, styles)

My thing is, since the F50 and N75 are doing good why is this such an eye opener for the powers that be? Common sense would tell you that if a store like Macy’s King of Prussia or Macy’s Mall at Millenia which have the assortments, styles, and available help on hand that of course their locations will have the sales to show it because the customer has what they want there however take a small-fry location which doesn’t have those same basic general retailing concepts down pat, of course that customer will go elsewhere.

Have we lost that customer?
