Thread regarding DIRECTV layoffs

My former boss is sensitive and insecure so I won’t mention any names below lol

My boss, a frequent poster on this site, hit me with walking papers this month who is usually here raging about leadership. It was a Friday Texas massacre and very unfortunate news for me. My decades of service and dedication meant nothing, nada, zilch. It was a sad and demoralizing end as they seemed ecstatic about pushing me out the door. Unfortunately I was their sacrificial lamb so others like my now former boss could keep her job.

I leave this company with my head held high and in good spirits. There's no need for me to be spiteful, angry, or upset at DTV Politics or Leadership because I know Karma has my back. Wishing the best of luck to the rest of yall.

Sad times we’re in for new hires and long term. Our strategy is Come on in and get let go! Yes we need this role filled ASAP. It’s a critical role for our future success. 3 months later - sorry your boss was let go and your entire group is also no longer needed. If you have a job don’t go here - they picot strategy and upper management changes weekly.

Very very sad news when I heard. Im in Ad Sales and know CynCollins was behind it all. We call her CyCo for short. This company filth and I hope you have peace of mind that you’re in a better place now. Good luck to you my friend

Someone posted layoffs will be done surgically and in small numbers throughout the year. Thats exactly right. 5 layoffs that I know of last week alone. They’re picking us off a handful at a time. It aint just dirty Cyn doing her dirty work

Thanks for sharing.
Directv was a great place to work till ATT brought their toxic culture and politics. You can blame them for creating (or bringing) such baggage like Cyn and other leaders. Now we have to see these out-in-the-open cat fights about Cyn Collins and many other leaders. Wish you the best Traffic Ops

Sorry to hear. Directv us unfortunately a continuously declining subscriber, revenue, and profit stage. Nothing that DTV will do will turn around this declining dynamic. Not any of the skinny bundles, sports bundles, etc... will do anything to stem the decline of this company. It will be continuous headcount cuts every quarter until the last satellite in the sky dies. Except for Bill and his crony execs who still collect millions annually. Good luck to everyone and hang in there.
