Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Layoffs again but will they finally get it right this time?

Over the last 10 years Intel has had layoffs every two years and most of the layoffs hit those lower than management. The new CEO has hinted at management being the target this time and it's probably long overdue. ELT, VPs and Management has steered the ship for far to long and it's result nothing but failure after failure.

Moral is at an all time low and I would imagine no one wants to work to there full potential due to the fact layoffs are the new normal. If he really wants to right the ship then it's time to remove the decision makers who have failed the company. I would imagine that won't happen so Intel will end up being a dumpster fire in the end and selling off eventually. Good luck Intel employees because your management will absolutely axe you yo save themselves.

if they don't get it right, the next layoff should start with the people who decided who got laid off this time.

Agree 100%! Too many grade 10+ "technical" (badically managers) workers who can't handle being a Director, Senior Director responsibilities and so Mgt puts them in "technical" ladder! Nobody outside Intel will hire these dinosaurs and they survive by nepot$sm and brown-nosing.

I jumped on the early retirement payout after nearly 3 decades in Intel,
Get rid of the self-serving, egotistical middle management in Ireland and I'd actually consider going back.

They think their job is to turn red boxes green via enforcing bullsh-te tasks.
Not actually helping the staff to get their real work done effectively.

Im waiting too see if LBT can put his money where his mouth is. If he really wants to turn Intel around it's time to get rid of all the people managers and VPs who have failed year over year and skated by based on relationships. To many layers of management and the same people making the same mistakes year over year i think it's time for a change.

I don’t think title matters. Keep the good ones no matter their role. Maybe put them in the right role.

It does make me sad to think of the brain drain the past few years. Lots of very smart folks are gone.

Too many VPs, senior directors, PM, PE, IT architect all doing absolutely nothing other than working hard on power points presentation to their next level managers. Most layoffs targeted individual contributors which is why this company is suffering there is a massive knowledge deficit and those who are left either overworked individual contributors or useless managers

Zinsner should be the first to go. He's partially responsible for this mess.

Too many VPs, senior directors and PEs with zero transferable skills and living in a bubble. Time to go bye bye.
