Thread regarding Dell Inc. layoffs

NDAs signed, what’s coming?

A manager I know said big changes are coming, any ideas? Guessing this will be another August / H2 bloodbath.

I've seen both sides of the coin here. I had some great managers who were canned because of poor Leadership results in Tell Dell. It's not, or it shouldn't be, your manager's job to ensure you love coming to work every day. Your overall compensation package decides that.

For the OP, lots of middle managers will tell you there's big change coming because they've heard elsewhere there's big change coming. It's a big company, there's always going to be change coming. Take it with a pinch of salt and get on with your day....don't let it impact you.

"I have a good manager. Or had. She used to be positive, always upbeat, and looked out for our interests. In the past few months, that positive attitude has severely deteriorated, she is constantly being beat down by both of the people she reports to. (One of those directors is obviously redundant) and her lobbying for us seems to have waned.

If Dell can discourage her, what hope do the rest of us have."

Maverick is a flop. People running it are chickens with their heads cut off and deloitte is fu--ing off with a fat paycheck. They're driving it into a wall, and will can people who point it out.

All of your googlefu is weak: Google has the info as well as chatgpt:

Maverick is the codename for a completely new ERP system. It is based on Oracle cloud. Cuts across all functions. Deloitte is hired as project manager.

Nothing obvious in a Google search for Dell project Maverick.

Just like Amazon, they’re eliminating middle management and keeping only senior leaders. While these executives come with the highest costs, they often fail to deliver meaningful value.
