People are excited because they will finally be getting rid of their low performing coworkers and not just shuffled to another group. That’s some true excitement that employees haven’t had for a while.

OP... it ended today. TSMC confirmed that it is not looking into a joint venture or anything to do with Intel foundry. Intel's turnaround is back to being an Intel problem to fix and hopefully LBT is the guy. The stock rise has become another fall. Back to $19 until some improvement is shown.
Everyone is excited with the anticipation of seeing other people get laid off.
It's sad the excitement has to come from layoffs but I don't think there is any other way
LBT is a true outsider.
He may actually have a clue about the reality that Intel finds itself in.
Being the best is out of reach.
Scale down Intel into something that can actually exist in the world instead of some fantasy that Pat had.
