Is there a new layoff coming in 2025 given the Finished Good sourcing plans, no money spent on projects/programs etc

Called it. 650 Amana workers laid off by June 1. More outsourcing of refrigeration to China. This is the new business model.
Most engineering for horizontal axis laundry is getting ready to go overseas. And a large chunk of refrigeration that is currently built at Amana is going overseas (China) as well.
Have been told by my manager that there were already layoffs in February and from where I'm sitting (remote contract worker here, so take that for what you will) they seem to be operating quarter to quarter as far as any cuts. It looks like things must have been ok (but not great) for Q1 because they let one of our team members go (contract) as the sacrificial lamb to keep the other 2 of us on the team. When I say there were 3 of us, I mean bottom of the org chart on our team. Of course, managers and above are ok and will continue to be employed. We remaining contractors were renewed for 3 months, so I guess we'll see in June?
Well if I did not understand it completely wrong, Official announcement that parts and tools will be made in China. The US team gets to validate the design I.e. no or Little innovation and engg on the state side
As a former employee, I’m curious to understand what the Finished Goods sourcing plan is. Care to share a high-level?
New? I think they had two rounds of layoffs already this year. I have no confidence in Whirlpool leadership currently.
If I were a job seeker - I'd look elsewhere.
If I were an employee (I was before I chose to leave) - I'd update my resume and either start looking seriously (if unhappy) or at least a little bit (if currently happy).
Good luck.
