Apparently it’s an open secret within the whole HR organization that the 5% represents only the first wave. Even though it was communicated differently by HRLT it’s part of the strategy from the start to lay more people off than currently being admitted.
At least we can expect them to kick out the HR staff that currently executes this sh-t show in the end.

How can there be more layoffs in EMEA when we aren't through the first. Not possible to just continue cutting.

It’s not a rumor. Budgeting is well underway for next fiscal year and managers are being asked for further cost reductions. Strategy here is simple:
People with long tenure -Hang in there and strategically look for your next gig. That way if you are cut then you walk out with your exit package and are well ahead on your transition.
If you are less than 5 years in the moment you find a new gig that matches what you are looking for take it and go.
This place is going down and it worked great for me. Landed at a smaller shop with better pay without all the drama of the past year.
I would say this is true, I got made redundant this month along with a few others. Same as before, received the teams invite in the morning for same day meeting. Was shocked that some of our roles were selected, clearly a decision made by someone not close to operations.
Do you have any idea when? I've been quiet quitting, but no one has even noticed (and I'm in the office next to my boss...), overall I won't quit and lose unemployment benefits.
Just had a colleague get their position eliminated today.
