Thread regarding Citigroup Inc. / Citibank / Citi layoffs

Any visa candidates had internal move recently ?

I am a visa candidate looking for internal move into another project ? or external company. The market is so bad I can't get an offer. Any one tried internal movements ? I tried for few positions but got rejected. Is there any restrictions internally ?

How long will Silicon valley folks stay at Citi especially with no equities and 1000 bonus ? Here, they hired a PwC management exec to head Tech while PwC hired AWS Head as CTO, the vision or priorities, are lacking somewhere.

Visa doesnt matter; from a recruitment standpoint we are leaning external for tech. Hiring the same people who couldn't deliver for years is counter intuitive. You'll see many Silicon Valley rejects in our ranks soon. Obviously if you're good, you have a shot, but you should be leaning into having someone you've delivered for advocate for you.

The problem of conversion for Vendor employees :

  1. Medical benefits in Citi is low
  2. No Safe Haven. If Visa rejected, Citi will provide no support. You have to return on your own
  3. Citi can't file Green card for H1B transfers because it filed WARN recently.

Think twice before accepting offers

Try applying in Tech and Data depts..

$hitibank hires and converts Contractors to FTEs by the kilos because $hitibank can Only attract and afford only Desperate and/or Long-term unemployed Svckers (including Contractors-Temps) who are willing to accept Low and below Market Rate Salaries, and are glad to accept a $hitibank job.

No one willingly wants to be a Contractor-Temp.

There's No guarantee of how long their contract job will last, No benefits (medical insurance, pension, dental, paid vacation/holidays etc.). And in the USA you have fewer labor rights than a Permanent FTE.

It’s for everyone, lots of people are complaining they get rejections from internal positions, I don’t think they are even looking at the profiles and resume. Some managers even told their employees to apply for internal positions and leave “if they don’t like them”. Citi is a great company, but some managers are making their employees to leave.

Gone are the days of “well, I’ve been here for 1 year, time to move”.

Man, there are just too many of you around here :D That is why the job market is so saturated. Try and see if you can - if not, move on to another place :D Simple.
