If you join target team, be ready for next layoff, Target team may be first to go!!

You can find teams doing similar integration/release management work in Google, Nvidia etc. abit automated though, not as manual as Q

OP here, thanks for replies, since at this point the only offer I have is Target team so I have no choice but to join, which other companies should I focus on recruiting after say an year in Target team? Do Nvidia or Meta or AMD have such teams?

Most of the work is non-engineering and doesn’t add any value to engineer in you.

Just look at noise in target teams. They create and handle noise.

Target team experience can be relevant if you plan to become a PM, coding jobs will son be obsolete due to AI anyways :-)

LOL at that experience.
nothing has changed though. No one still takes responsibilities for their releases.
I wish we would move to the Designated Responsible Individual Practice and get rid of this people hunt

The Target team isn't a real industry standard - Qualcomm made it up during the 6200 mess when nobody would take responsibility for releases. These folks basically collect unfinished junk from tech teams and have to beg to get proper deliverables. They're just buffers who take heat from management and pass it down to other teams. They're glorified punching bags with little actual industry value.
