Received a 7% pay rise and class myself as very fortunate. I’m led to believe I’m one of the top performers on the team and have a bright future - keen to compare with others to see how this compares with others.

The more you make the better your chances of being let go - excellent performance means nothing - you are just a number
i got only 5% despite 2 yrs salary freeze and inflation, effectively my net income dropped down
You kiss azz good to get 7%
I got 7% last year; I was told I was being set up for the next available I-9 role. Two months later my manager was WFR’d, new manager thought I was overpaid, and then I was let go in September. Congrats on the raise but don’t let your guard down.
Tone a$$ deaf post. On a layoff site you’re bragging about your raise??
"Cedric, don't count your tips in public"
You are posting this on a layoff site? Lol
It's not always easy to compare merit % because different paygrades/roles are treated different. An example is an i6 could get an 8% merit were as an i9 would see maybe a 3% at best.
Congrats but don’t get cocky. I was considered by my manager to be the golden girl in my group. He left the company, then along came a new manager who withheld raises two years in a row. The reasoning, I was being paid more than I was worth. Of course, maybe because I turned down her advances.
"Pat yourself on the back. To get 7% one or two of your teammates got nothing"
Is he supposed to feel bad about that?
