Thread regarding Dell Inc. layoffs

40% of a group will get a 90% bonus

Yes - that will become the new low for our HR friends and management at Dell. Regardless of performance, a manager has to take 24-40% of his group and dock their bonus to be 90%.

Could these guys be anymore of a set of sc&mbags? It will come back to them. To be honest I don’t know how some of these POS sleep at night.

Someone has to pay for the 18% increase in shareholders' dividend, share buybacks and new tighter t-shirts for JC! They're making peanuts on the things they sell, so of course they're going to target your bonus...if they are doing that this year then try and imagine what it will be like in 12 months....ouch. And anyone who got a pay-rise, congrats to you....but remember, anything less than 11% will not even cover inflation (~3%) and debasement of USD (~8%)....so your future-self will be poorer. Happy Monday!

each f#@$ng senior director requested 3% reservation to reward each directors under them, each f#@ng VP requested 3% reservation to reward each senior directors under them, each f#@ng SVP requested 4% reservation to reward each VPs under them, only director and the above been treated as human being at Dell. Any position below director is dispensable.

If someone gets more below director's level, i have every reason to believe you gave up your as?h@le to your superior, f#$@ U!

It's true across the board. The bonus budget was not enough to give everyone 100% and then you are pushed to mark some people below and give them less. It's horrible if you are a manager who cares.

The bonus dollars allocated to each manager is "exactly" 100% of what the entire team would get if everyone would get 100%. But they are directed to give more than 100% to the top ranked members of the team and give less than 100% to the bottom. If you got less than 100%, congratulations, you are at or near the bottom of your team's stack ranking.

This is how my boss worded it to me. I got 110% but it was taken from others. He didn't divulge what metrics he used to reduce other bonuses but hinted there were some performance concerns.

I didn't feel great about getting a higher bonus when others got less.

They are telling you that within your team, relative to the other members of your team, that you are near the bottom of the stack ranking
