Thread regarding Nielsen layoffs

Listen to the rumors

Will admit to riding the wave and hoped the rumors or cutting the field was at least going to happen in the Fall. I think managers (and obviously higher ups) in SMP knew what was coming, but wanted to calm everyone down as much as possible. Unfortunately to their dismay, everyone caught wind. What makes me laugh is the merit and salary increases one week before, as well as the meeting that was created the night before. Of course lay offs were inevitable, but have a little decency for those who you’re laying off. Shouldn’t be surprised at all, but considering the meeting regarding decreasing money given to future audio and tam panelists and saying they did that to stop from getting rid of field positions is a gross way of reassurance.

Are there any rumors of new layoffs in Europe in 2025? Have you heard anything new?

In regards to giving the MRs the harder homes and the call center the easier homes. That has ALWAYS been the case. It is not new and not a secret.

Field Reps, Field Management and TAM Tech Support are next up on the chopping block. Time line: July-August. If won't be the sla-ghter that the Mem Reps got to face but there will be blood. Those effected will be mostly local reps but National will feel the burn this time around too. Your phone and computer will be shut off and all access will be revoked before you ever hang up with your HR specialist.

Hi, I am an Audio MR that survived the layoffs. Sorry that you didn’t. I have been suspicious for 6-8 months now that to save money they have been purposely giving us harder homes to sign and giving the easier ones to the call center. Iuf you compare the bonus payouts outs from previous years and also the amount of homes signed it was nearly half recently. I think they are pulling something very deceptive that the MRC and clients aren’t aware of. What do you think?

They wanted to keep clients happy and also pay people the minimum. FRs are next.
