Thread regarding Union Pacific Corp. layoffs

Heartland Unit Management.

I'm not sure who actually wrote the latest message to the service unit. Regardless, the number of spelling and grammatical errors is frelling embarrassing. It reads like an elementary school paper. It's obvious from the tone and composition that the author is in well over their waders. Perhaps you should consider the custodial arts, as managing people clearly exceeds your abilities.

No, they don't see it because they're being told to not see it by their managers. Then those managers are being told to ignore it by their senior managers. Then those senior managers are yelling, swearing, and threatening the lower management and mostly employees for doing the very work they're supposed to be doing so they can keep themselves looking good to the directors and everyone else above them. The truth is that the UP can get rid of 50% of the current management they have and the operations would absolutely stay the same or even improve. The UP's logic for efficient operations is to reduce available employees, increase workload, then add complexity and confusion. Then when operations start going bad, they hire more managers and reduce available employees even further to fix a problem that was caused by the CURRENT management they already have. The UP is a massive wreck just looking for a place to happen. They have too many managers and nowhere near enough employees. The UP just doesn't pay enough anymore to get people to stay or to even apply. If the new hires aren't even staying, then yeah there's a really big problem at the UP. Like Vena said "This is how we win!" No, this is how HE wins. Vena supposedly has degree in Mathematics. Even a three year old can figure that you don't make a something bigger by making it smaller, or you don't subtract employees and add work. Less available employees=less work being done! You don't need a college degrees to figure that out

In engineering dept we cannot understand how there are so many managers just to report to other managers information about what is happening. But there are so few employees to perform the work that the information is derived from. It makes no sense. Year after year there is more tasks, more steps, new different equip w/ added complexity and features, etc. But not one manager ever wonders HOW and WHEN and WHO is going to perform these additional tasks? Do they not see how deteriorated everything is becoming? Do they not see the new hires who quit shortly after being hired? Do they not see how inefficient this has become?

As much as I really don't like seeing anyone lose their jobs, but all I can say is IT'S ABOUT DAM TIME! What the he-l do they actually do??? The only thing I've ever seen them do is yell and swear at lower employees. They also like to force some employees to break rules so they can look good to their superiors. The current management needs a very severe reality check, NOW! It's only going to get worse if the current management keeps this up.
