Thread regarding Comcast layoffs

Financial performance of Olympics coverage

I see NBC extended it coverage of the Olympics by a few years: https://www.olympics.com/ioc/news/ioc-and-comcast-nbcuniversal-agree-on-groundbreaking-partnership-for-the-new-digital-era-including-an-extension-of-their-olympic-media-rights-agreement-until-2036,

But didn't NBC/Peacock/Comcast lose money with Paris 2024? IMHO, NBC and Peacock did a GREAT job with the coverage, but lost money in the endeavor and it didn't result in a net increase in Peacock subscribers.

Countless millions love sports, but sports won't save Peacock. Comcast can throw as million billions of dollars as it wants at the problem, but sports won't grow Peacock's subscriber count. Sports won't save NBC. Neither Peacock now NBC deserve to be in Comcast's Fab 6 businesses
