Thread regarding Canon Inc. layoffs

1st Quarter Disaster Will Be The Justification For More Layoffs

Honestly, I think Sammy and his buddies intentionally set the company up for failure. Since he has taken control on January 1, 2024, the company has been, as Tom Petty would say, “Free Fallin’”. Sure, the decline started before then, but things have spiraled out of control since that fateful day. Revenue began to flatten in the second half of 2023. The fugazi “growth” from 2021 through the first half of 2023 was due to rebounding from COVID. Now, we are starting to see that flat revenue begin to DECLINE, and there are no signs of a turnaround. I’m just being real, folks. I will not BS you with cherry-picked metrics and corny motivational pep talks.

Do not be surprised if this poor performance will result in more cuts, they need SCAPEGOATS.

They will pass it off as “we just need to fine tune our restructuring strategy just a little bit more. Oh, and by the way, please come back to the office five days a week so we can MAXIMIZE COLLABORATION. We did not make this decision lightly (of course you did!), but this will make us ONE CANON #CANONSTRONG

I hope that Canon can turn this sinking ship around. The job market is incredibly tough right now, and companies just aren’t hiring as much. We all have a lot to lose if Canon fails =( . What can we realistically do during this time beside apply like crazy for other jobs??? Something’s got to give… is there any hope?!

Canons should be outlawed! Seriously I didn't know they were in business anymore. Is this cameras or copiers? Printers? Telescopes? 35mm Film? Hadn't bought anything since cell phones from there

How long until someone removes this post? People have posted over the past couple days and those posts have been removed.

Who is removing them? Why are they being removed?

Sammy cut costs in Canada and the home office has sent him to the US to do the same. If you work for Canon USA Business don’t expect a bailout. They are making it very hard to make money with these inflated quotas. I think they want you to leave.

The lack of communication from management is nothing short of eye opening. Currently through the end of February approximately 70% of the reps were under 70% nationally. Although January and February are tough months, the author of the post is 100% correct.

Just remember in the end you were all lied to. PK had several town hall meetings telling you it would all be better. They cut resources, tasked those who remained with extra work, and now expect us to be grateful we are here.

Leaders are not leading.

How long until they stop offering us the free terrible coffee to save a few more bucks?
