Thread regarding Dell Inc. layoffs

Is this the d-mbest statement in history?

Whoever came up with this phrase is utterly insane or has never spent 10 minutes in an office with other people.

“Nothing is faster than the speed of human interaction”

Almost 2 weeks back and I’m flabbergasted. I’ve never been so unproductive. Everyone just having random conversations about nothing, the constant interruptions, the constant annoyances of loud people on the phone. Ohh time for another tea break. Oh look the coffee truck is here today let’s waist another hour going to get coffee, great got my coffee now it’s time to do some work, oh wait it’s lunchtime, time for a half mile hike through the factory floor to the canteen.

Hmmm the food was ok, anyone want to go for a walk around the campus?

Finally back at my desk, great let’s get into it. Oh wait time for a meeting, better head to the meeting room half way across the campus.

Great let’s start the meeting. Can you hear us? How about now? Damn let me mess with the settings, oh the speakers are in the ceiling. Meeting ends, nothing achieved, a half hour debug session concludes.

Great back at my .desk, someone shouts TAEEEE? Well ok I guess.

Hmmmm tae is done let’s do that work now. Oh cr-p it’s time to go home and pick up the kids from school, another day done with nothing achieved.so glad to be back in the office

This is the best post I have seen yet. It sounds like your experience back in the office has been frustrating, and honestly, it’s not surprising. Remote work has shown that people can be more efficient when they’re not constantly pulled into unnecessary conversations and meetings.

I could be wrong about this but I believe the speed of light may be faster than the speed of human interaction.

"RTO productivity improvements"

What improvements? I'm getting less than 50% of whatvi did at home done. And that's with me logging on at home hours before my shift starts to get some sh-t done before driving into the office to be on zoom/teams calls all day.

Yes it is particularly when you’ve previously said the following to your peers:
‘If you are counting on forced hours spent in a traditional office to create collaboration and provide a feeling of belonging within your organization, you’re doing it wrong,’
