Thread regarding Macy's Inc. layoffs

ISM

It's been long enough for the growing pains to be over with. How many of you now feel that this was a huge mistake and how many have gotten used to it and think that it was the right move and that you can see positive outcomes resulting from it? Has anybody's opinion changed?

This ridiculous idea of adding back to house and front of house into one team is just doesn't make no sense. This company is just creating more and more problems, what makes them think that it's going to work. But you never know this new idea might happen in the future. This company is always full of surprises.

Nothing I can say about my store that hasn't been said by others about their store. Doesn't help though our store manager is a clueless id--t in way over her head and most of the red badge brigade here were clueless to begin with. If we make it thru q4 it will be in spite of, not because of, ism.

The planner itself is ridiculous. Takes forever to complete. Sometimes it's not ready when the opening crew clock in.

ISM is not working for small doors either where you got that idea i don't know. We cannot get merchandise to the floor ,can't get markdowns done, and can't get fitting room put away what part of that sounds like its working. ISM is a joke much like Jeffrey and his cast of characters in upper management. But I'm sure they'll all give themselves bonuses after Xmas while figure out how many of us they'll be firing.

To the comment below!
So now they think pulling Sally and her long nails 💅from the register and putting her in the back a few days a week to rip open boxes is gonna work 😆 or 80 year old Gladys is gonna start slinging cartons off the truck. This is the d-mbest idea I've heard, this company has lost their god damn mind!

Our store manager in our location told us in a morning rally that the company is thinking of adding back of house and front of house into one team. That the company is going to test it in several ( pilot stores program ) stores next year. ISM is a mistake, what makes them think that it's going to be a good idea. I just don't get it.

HUGE MISTAKE!
Large door here and it's still a disaster. We tried to embrace it, we're still trying and it's just not working!
It might work in smaller stores but our store needs a merchandise team. We need people that know their floors, everything takes 5 times longer now to put stuff out because it becomes their first day on the job every day now for these people even if they've helped merchandise before. Most don't want to help cause they'd rather stand behind a register and watch their phone. There is no pride in an area any more, every where is a mess! The generalists work all over but can't help a customer find anything cause they're not in the area long enough to learn the merchandise. Our back of house finally has a huge staff but that means nothing when we can't get the goods out.
Trying to put out merchandise all day long is a joke! We're to busy to do that and what happened to not letting the customers see the mess of carts/ flatbeds/ racks all over the place. We're the most productive before the store opens, you can't get anything accomplished when you have to stop and help customers all night.
Then when you have a visit they send all this help to hide what the store looks like in reality.
Way to ki-l your business macys.

ISM is not a one size fits all. It’s great for small doors not so much for big ones. Someone in a high up position told me “the smart managers make it work for them”.
